since i was taken off of sgling for next year and put on sports ministry, i realized that i'll have a certain amount of freedom. so what brilliant relevation hits me like a brick? to finally start my tkd bible study. essentially - to lead a small group.
funny how i can't get away from it, even when i try...
so ever since i moved here, i had thought about a tkd bible study. open to xtians, seekers, jews, whoever, for my teammates since we already have community and they're at varying points of faith. but of course with the entrenchment in "formal" ministry, and quest to be a champ, well, there just wasn't time or energy.
i was chatting with al about churches and such when i started on this tangent...which rambled for awhile and concluded with my 5 step plan to roll this out in the fall. haha. i was like - "this is perfect, my apt will be done, i already have bible studies made that i offered to teach at church but no one ever got back to me about getting that going, you can play guitar and...you're a pastor"
to which he laughed at me. this whole having a ministry partner thing is kind of nice. it was kind of interesting - we realized that despite our initial concerns that our churches and relative involvement in ministries would conflict ... they're actually turning out quite complementary.
this is all still in my head but...i'm envisioning a dojang bible study group that would eventually channel people into churches...and in that light, it's pretty cool that his church and my church serve two completely different demographics.
anyways...that was just an interesting "aha!" moment...
in other news, the apt is done, the walk thru was decent, and hopefully the closing will happen within a month. very excited about my new place. yesterday mrt was watching al hang with sam, who said something about him getting a new iphone, while we were talking about the possibility of al moving in one day. so mrt says "so will you let al move in when he gets a new iphone?" and i replied, "uh, i'll let al move in when he gets a ring"
as sad as i'm going to be to leave the chongs...can't wait to move back into the city. no skunks, no tolls, no rotting in traffic...just the same old rude opinionated people.
and the most awesome washer/dryer combo in existence. =)
