Timing is funny sometimes. The "refresh your soul" meditation for today:
"Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out." -Art Linkletter
Optimism...right. Well, how to make the best of 8 toes, 9 fingers, 1 shin and possibly 1 ham going into this weekend. That's the hard part about having multiple competitions in a row: you can't ever really give it your all because you have to maintain and make sure that you're in good shape for the next one.
Note to self: never tell your coach how you really feel, unless you want to get chewed out entirely in caps. What does he want me to do, lie? I'm a terrible liar.
There's a difference between the type of pressure when you know it doesn't matter whether you win or lose as long as you gave your best, and the pressure of when you know that at your best you should win no problem.
Need to snap out of this funk somehow. My legs could not possibly have forgotten how to kick. Must transform from Christina the Grump to Captain Sparky. Where oh where is my phone booth?
